Between traditions and hope, scouts at JamCam 2025 Cali prepare for an unforgettable New Year’s night, sharing and strengthening brotherhood, renewing their commitment to hope and service.

The New Year celebration is near, JamCam 2025 Cali participants have been preparing everything necessary for the night, by subcamp the united scouts have assembled their Old Year doll, a Colombian tradition that brings together families, friends, and close ones with the aim of burning the old and welcoming 2026 with renewed energy. This activity will be symbolic at night, as the dolls will not be burned for safety reasons.

Additionally, the night has its dress code, the boys, girls, and adults of the event must wear white clothing to bid farewell to 2025, during the afternoon JamCam 2025 Cali participants prepared their outfits and are looking forward to the party that awaits them at night.

Did you know about the Old Year tradition?

This tradition is not exclusively Colombian, in some sister countries the gathering among acquaintances to assemble the Old Year doll that will be burned on the night of December 31 is shared. In Ecuador, for example, this cultural representation is known as Monigote, which is a doll made of cardboard, uses a representative type of mask and is accompanied by pants and a shirt.

What will be the outfit of some of the JamCam 2025 Cali participants?

Marcelo Espinosa from Peru said “I already have my Old Year outfit, which is white shorts, a white polo that all Peruvians will have, we hope to see a bit of Colombian culture on New Year’s, and also how we can manage to combine a bit of our culture, to unite as we are good scouts”. Sebastián Calle from Ecuador said “my Old Year outfit this year is an elegant shirt, silver necklace, happy face egg socks, boots and white pants, in Ecuador we call the Old Year doll Monigote, I hope that this past year served as a learning experience, to understand how things work, that we can be better than yesterday and move forward”.
